Latest Video Update on Tropical Storm Sanba (Bagyong Karen).

The storm continues to intensify as it tracks across the Philippine Sea. In fact, JTWC has upgraed Sanba into a Typhoon so right now, there is a pretty big difference in terms of wind analysis from JTWC and JMA. Much of the rains remain offshore although could still bring scattered showers across Visayas and Luzon in the next day or so. Furthermore, Sanba will likely enhance the Southwest Monsoon bringing widespread rains across the Philippines in the next few days.

Tropical Storm Sanba is still forecast to move northward and avoid making landfall in the Philippines. It will continue intensifying along the way with JTWC actually forecasting Sanba to reach Category 4 strength! Consensus is taking the system near Okinawa by Sunday morning and perhaps into the Korean Peninsula by early next week.
