Odisha is at the receiving end of nature’s fury once again. After surviving cyclone Phalin, the Ganjam district in the state is witnessing floods because of continuous rains for the past five days. Over 2 lakh have been marooned and several people have also died.

Ganjam district Odisha received the brunt of cyclone Phailin barely two weeks ago. Now, the flood has devastated the district. Continuous rain for five days in most parts of Odisha due to low pressure has led to flooding in several rivers. The relief and restoration operation has come to a standstill. All schools and colleges have been shut till Monday. Train services have also been badly hit and several of them have been cancelled on the Khurda and Vishakapatanam route.
